The Quiet Things That No One Ever Knows
Sep. 28th, 2003 01:01 amI went to the Vendetta Red/Brand New/MXPX/Dashboard Confessional concert today, it kicked. :) It took me forever to get into it...and I wasn't really feeling Vendetta Red...that man's screaming is UNBERABLE in a live performance...and I noticed I wasn't the only one that had to cover my ears. It was just...shrill.
Brand New was okay, but they've not quite mastered the art of live-ness. Still, the lead singer is cuuute and I got his autograph on my ticket-stub :)
MXPX was GREAT, they're really a fun group to see live, except that the singer said the wrong city name at first, buuuut he corrected himself later. Salem is SO not Portland...Not that I live in either city anyway. But yeah, they're just a lot of fun, great songs, and so on, and I love hearing Well Adjusted. I'm glad to see it's on their new CD...because that mp3 was a BITCH to find. Nobody on KaZaa or WinMX had it, they all had a mistitled song....EVERYONE...but I managed to find it on someone's website a month ago. Anyway... bitchin... They even had the singer of Vendetta Red come out to do a The Who cover.
Then there was Dashboard Confessional... I couldn't even remember what they sounded like when we go to the concert...I haven't really heard them alot.. but for some reason I could NOT take my eyes of the lead singer for some reason...I don't know why... I leaned over to Shayne and said "I think I'm in love"...and shortly after that, I guess some guy was flipping the band off, because the first song gradually came to a halt...and the singer was pretty pissed, he was asking the guy if he had something he wanted to say, and if he did, he could come up there and use the microphone and say it. I guess the guy didn't budge, cause the singer called him a "fucking pussy" I believe... and the guy was escorted away. I gave a heart scream with the rest of the crowd and the show continued. I was worried that the guy was going to be pissed for the rest of the show...but he got back into it and he seemed fine a song or two later... which is good, because as I said, I couldn't take my eyes off of him, and I was really wishing that I wasn't sick...which was the reason I was sitting up in the stands instead of hanging out in the standing area. Ah well, apparently it was way too hot in the crowd. Anyway, I was hypnotized, even when the guy stopped to speak. Hehe can't I be hyptnotized by someone a little closer to home? Shucks.
I even got a Dashboard Confessional T-shirt. :D
All and all, a good night, even had a nice Evanescence/Good Charlotte sing along in the car on the way home... o.O
Speaking of home...I got here and there was a frigging 26 inch pizzaon the table. I guess my mom was hungry...those things are fucking huge. Nobody had put it away and it was nearly 1am..so I put it away...I hope they wanted it in the fridge o-O...
Plus there was an angry "STOP BURNING THE POTS!" note from my mom on the kitchen chalkboard...
That was a huge mistake I made when no one else was home... I set the burner on high much earlier today to boil water, then I went upstairs to get ready and forgot about it for an entire half hour. I coulda burned the house down that way... of course my mom doesn't know that's the reason the pot was burned... I don't think she needs to hear what happened. She'd uh... kill me and stuff.
....
So anyway lovely day... I was happy for a while...which is always nice... Plus while I was gone the music video for Numb downloaded... it's interesting... but not what I expected...
